Naples Gulf Access Homes

Golf access communities range from very affordable manufactured home communities with a boat launch and a 8 mile canal trip to the Gulf, to multi-million dollar homes on Naples Bay with a short trip to the Gulf. There are communities that share a common marina, ones that have private marinas within and condo complexes where resident have assigned boat slips.

The homes in Naples with Gulf access are by way of the:

  • Naples Bay, its canals and it tributaries
  • Doctors Pass and its connecting bays within the Park
    Shore and Moorings Neighborhoods
  • Clam Pass
  • Delnor-Wiggins Pass and it connecting bays and

Naples Bay Access Homes

On the west side of Naples Bay you have the Port Royal and Agualane Shores neighborhoods. Two of Naples upscale boating communities located just south of the Olde Naples area.

There are approximately 400 homes in the Aquaplane Shores’ neighborhood and 600 in the Port Royal. Nearly all the home within these neighborhoods have Gulf Access.

On the east side of Naples Bay you have the Golden Shores, Oyster Bay and Royal Harbor neighborhoods, with both single family homes and small condo complexes with canal access.

Tributaries into Naples Bay include the Gordon River, Haldeman Creek and Rock Creek.

Doctors Pass Communities

Doctors Pass offers Gulf access for those living on Doctors Bay or the Moorings. There are many single family homes on the east side of the bay, and over 50 different condo associations on the west side, where residents have access to boat docks on the bays.

For those living on the beach side, they can join a marina on the bay or rent boat slips.

Clam Pass Gulf Access Homes

Just north of the map to the left is Clam Pass. There is a small community of 75 single family homes on canals with gulf access through Clam Pass. The access is very swallow and would only accommodate shallow draft boats.

Delnor-Wiggins Pass

The Delnor-Wiggins Pass provides Gulf access to nearly 100 different communities. There are communities of every type with Gulf access through Delnor Wiggins. From manufactured homes, to in-land high rises.

If you are interested in Gulf access, it is very likely you could find a home that suits you in this area. Resident in these communities have access through the Wiggins Pass: Barefoot Bay, Barefoot Beach, Bay Forest, Bonita Shores, Bridgewater, Colliers Reserve, Cove Towers, Dolphin Cove, Gulf Harbor, Hickory Bay West, Hickory Harbour, Little Hickory Bay, Little Hickory Shores, Marina Bay Club, Palm River Estates, Palm River Shores, Pelican Isle, The Anchorage, Tradewinds, Vanderbilt Beach and Wiggins Bay.

Wiggins Pass is a natural inlet named after Joe Wiggins who settled into the area in the late 1860s. The Cocohatchee River is part of a brackish, tidal influenced estuary that flows into the Gulf of Mexico through Wiggins Pass.

From the south, the Vanderbilt Channel was dredged between 1950 and 1952 to provide access to the Gulf of Mexico. Prior to the dredging this was a habitat of mangroves and lagoons, which included Water Turkey Bay.
